Psychotherapy ultimately seeks to reduce suffering and nurture growth so that you can live the full life you desire. As a therapist I hope to help you find understanding of your situation, explore your evolving identity and provide the support and processing you want during difficult transitions and phases of life.
Background and Approach:
For over 20 years I’ve explored the connections between mind, body and spirit— first as a dancer, then as a massage therapist and now as a psychotherapist. I work with adults facing issues of emotional or relationship distress, anxiety, and trauma. I have a special interest in working with caregiving professionals, young adults finding their direction in life and adults wanting to process their experience of infant or childhood adoption.
My therapeutic approach is trauma-informed and relational, drawing from psychodynamic, somatic, experiential mindfulness and CBT models. I strive to create a compassionate, safe, and empowering environment. My practice is affirming and anti-oppressive in orientation.
In my spare time I enjoy cooking, wandering through thrift stores, walking in beautiful outdoor spaces and spending time with my husband and two daughters. I am pursuing a Master of Social Work through Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota and practicing under the clinical supervision of Brownell Hilger, LICSW.
